Club 21 is built on a strong Christian foundation and the school does not discriminate unfairly when admitting learners to the school. Families can expect their children to be educated in a Christian environment, but families and their children will not be discriminated against based on religion, or any other grounds, including race, gender, marital status, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, disability, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth.

 

Club 21 Learning Centre:

Our specialized curriculum is adapted and differentiated and focuses on integrating the Academic (Languages, Mathematics, Themes), Physical (e.g. Gross motor), Emotional, Social and Life skills (e.g. Catering, Somatology, Woodwork, Robotics, etc.) development of children with Down syndrome from 2 to 18 years old.

 

Club 21 College:

Club 21 College was developed especially for our students with Down syndrome from 18 years and older. Club 21 College focuses on 2 main areas of development:

1. Sport development (Athletics, Swimming, Table tennis and Futsal)

2. Skills development (Woodwork, Art, Music, Dance, Catering, Admin, Somatology, Vinyl printing, Robotics, IT as well as a Sport Gymnasium).

 

The Club 21 College also serves as a training centre for adults, with a curriculum and subjects that cater specifically for each student’s unique needs.

The languages of instruction currently offered are English and Afrikaans.

Club 21 Centurion, Pretoria offers:

  • A structured and fixed routine in which children with Down syndrome can reach their full potential.

  • Small groups with a maximum of eight learners with qualified teachers and assistants.

  • An academic curriculum based on concepts of CAPS (the National Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements) and D-CAPS (the Differentiated National Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements) curriculums, with a Christ-centred foundation.

  • Comprehensive assessments by Speech- and Occupational therapists to determine the independent level of functioning of each learner with Down syndrome.

  • The services of a multi-disciplinary team of therapists, offering individual therapy to ensure and monitor the optimal development of learners. The team consists of:

 

  • Nadia Cusack (Occupational Therapist)  

  • Lauren Holman (Occupational Therapist)         

  • Robyn Tacon (Physiotherapist)                            

  • Amelia du Plooy (Speech Therapist)

  • Carin Lichtenstein (Speech Therapist)

  • Annalie Jacobs (Play Therapist)

 

Therapies not included in school fees.

  • Quarterly educational outings

  • Extra-mural activities: Photography & Dance

  • The development of Christian values.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

While Club 21 does not discriminate against any learner wanting to attend Club 21, the school does have objective admission requirements:

 

  • Comprehensive assessments by Speech- and Occupational therapists appointed by the management of Club 21.

  • Interview with parents.

  • Interview with teachers and therapists from previous schools or learning centres.

  • Placements in conjunction with the therapists and management of Club 21.

  • Only learners with Down syndrome.

  • The ability to function within a structured social / educational environment. 

 

SCHOOL AND OFFICE HOURS

​School hours are from 08:00 to 13:30 Monday to Friday. Aftercare facilities are available from 13:30-17:30.

 

SCHOOL TERMS

School terms are generally in accordance with the Gauteng provincial school terms. However, Club 21 does adapt the calendar a bit and inform the parents in due time (i.e. closing the school a bit earlier at the end of the calendar year etc.).​

CENTURION, PRETORIA SCHOOL FEES (2024):

R4 850 per month per child, due on or before the 4th of each month for twelve months.

The fees are revised and communicated on an annual basis.

 

COLLEGE FEES (2024):

5 Days per week                     R 6 410.00 p.m.

4 Days per week                     R 5 265.00 p.m.

3 Days per week                     R 4 110.0 p.m.

2 Days per week                     R 2 955.00 p.m.

1 Day per week                       R 1 800.00 p.m.

 

AFTERCARE FEES (2024)

​​Half day aftercare (13:30 - 15:30): R 825 p.m.​

​Full day aftercare (13:30 - 17:30): R1 660 p.m.

​

HOLIDAY SCHOOL

The possibility of a Holiday School is offered for 1 week in the June- and December Holidays respectively.

 

BUS SERVICE (2024)

The monthly transport fees are as follows: 

 

Pretoria-East to Centurion

One-way trip R 1 095.00 p.m.

Return trip R 1 585.00 p.m.

Johannesburg Bus Rates:

One-way trip R 1 595.00 p.m.

Return trip R 2 255.00 p.m.
